You Pick – Doctors or Lawyers

George Will mocked our "Litigation Nation" today which raised some trial lawyer feathers. Their anger was predictable and uninspired but I have to give them credit, they introduced me to the guy on the right: Lawyer Gerry Spence. Spence at the annual Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) convention had these insane words for his fellow trial lawyers:

We are the most important people in America...I want to ask you which would be more important: If all of the doctors in the country somehow disappeared or all the trial lawyers in America somehow disappeared?  We can live without medical care, but we cannot live without justice.

The only thing which stopped this from being the funniest thing I have ever read is the fact that the U.S. House may believe it to be true. Hopefully they won't bring Spence in when health care reform comes up; my children are quite attached to their doctors.
